CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH b. JUNE 7TH 1868

"Charles Rennie Mackintosh (June 7, 1868 – December 10, 1928) was a Scottish architect, designer, and watercolourist. He was a designer in the Arts and Crafts movement and also the main exponent of Art Nouveau in the United Kingdom."

the watercolors are what first caught my eye, then the architecture. if one of the things architecture does is make space visible, mackintosh's solid structures work quite well. the devil(or the inspiration)seems to be in the details. lots & lots of finely wrought details in/on the structures. the influence on frank lloyd wright is pretty obvious.
