LOST AMERICA


i find this guy's work interesting. first, there's the desert southwest & then, there's the abandoned structures(cars, buildings, mobile homes etc). he's also fond of night settings. i don't mind the moments of "technique" intruding in some of the pics. if you've ever been in these deserted areas & come upon one of these forlorn but insistent structures, there can be a supernatural aspect to your experience. nothing otherworldly, just maybe some slippage in perception that elevates or augments the thing perceived. perhaps it's a glimpse of the lacanian real, "The state of nature from which we have been forever severed by our entrance into language."
